4.3.21 - Traylor

Certain moments in my life only happen once. In those moments, I find myself wishing for time to stand still. They are unforgettable moments that will last a lifetime. April 3, 2021, was undoubtedly one of those times.

I don’t know when Ashlie and I started having honest conversations about getting married, but I know that our dear friends, Mrs. Susan and Mr. Paul, had much to do with it. I remember Mr. Paul walking up to Ashlie and me at church on my first visit. He smiled as he put one hand on my shoulder and then made his other hand into a giant fist. He asked me, “Are you treating this young lady right?” Before I could answer him, Ashlie smiled and introduced me to Mr. Paul, telling him I was treating her great. This began a Sunday routine of going and talking to Mr. Paul and assuring him that I was indeed treating Ashlie right. Often, Mrs. Susan would come up to me and tell me that I needed to “get off the pot” and ask Ashlie to marry me. This, too, became a Sunday routine.

When we decided to start planning our wedding, it was overwhelming. Thank God we have a good friend who prepares events for her career. I’m unsure how we would have pulled any of it off without Stephanie Anthony! Thank you, Stephanie, for helping us have a perfect day! If anyone is reading this and looking to have a unique, memorable wedding or other events, we highly recommend looking up Stephanie and her Everlasting Events business. You can find it on Facebook by searching for @everlastingevents.

I have always heard you don’t remember your wedding day because it goes by so fast. I know now just how true that statement is. We are so thankful to have such a great photographer, Morgan Negard, with Morgan Negard Photography. We also had a fantastic videographer, Brentny Gathers, with Brentny Gathers Creative. Thank you, ladies, for being amazing!

When Ashlie and I tried to come up with a date to schedule our wedding, we didn’t immediately have one in mind. Things started happening fast; however, once people knew we were engaged. Mrs. Susan and Mr. Paul graciously offered us their impressive pavilion on their property to get married. We were ecstatic about having their place available to us. It is a beautiful, open landscape with green grass as far as the eyes can see. They also have a big covered pavilion that overlooks the pond. It was perfect. Stephanie did a fantastic job of staging this ideal day for us! God gave us the perfect weather on our wedding day: blue skies, white clouds, and a cool breeze that kept the temperature in the sixties. I was so worried that I’d be sweating all day like I naturally do when I am outside for any extended amount of time, but I did not sweat one drop on that day!

The day before our wedding, Ashlie and some of her girls went out to dinner at Bella Fresca, and the guys had a party at my house. One of my best friends, Chris, and his wife had spent the day cooking up the best fajitas you have ever had. All my best friends came to my house for good food, music, and beer pong. Naturally, before the night was over, the ladies had to go and crash our party, but we all had fun seeing them!

We want to say THANK YOU so much to all who made this day possible. The day was perfect, and it would not have been the same without all of you.

Thank you, Stephanie Anthony, Chris Willcutt, Morgan Negard, Brentny Gathers, Mrs. Susan, and Mr. Paul, for helping us create the best day ever.

Thank you, Sarah Rimmer and Chris Pratt, for being the best friends a guy and a girl could ever ask for and for making sure the night before our wedding was perfect for each of us.
