Beginnings
It's you, my sweet love
Oh, my love
And the light, bright light
And the light, bright light
Bright light, bright light
It's all around me
It's all around me
It's all around me
It's all around me
It's all around me…A Beginning Song - The Decemberist
If you’ve been following along on this blog, you already know that when it comes to reading the Bible, I have tried many times and failed every single time. I’ve often joked about how I would get geared up and never make it even as far as getting through the book of Genesis.
Well, I’m happy to say that I finally did get through it entirely, and now I am studying and journaling Exodus. It’s been so cool to read and study these as an adult. As I study, I say, “So that’s where that story is written.”
Getting through Genesis was different this time than ever before. It's probably because it is the first time I read it consistently. Journaling also has helped me focus more on what each chapter tries to teach.
It’s cool to turn to any portion of Genesis now and know what’s happening. It’s cool to read most names and know who they were.
Reading Genesis during quarantine helped me be reassured that God has a plan, and He has always had a plan. It would occur every time God told someone what would happen, just as God or God’s angels had said. I don’t know about you, but that gives me hope and confidence.
I love new beginnings; something is refreshing about Genesis. Beginnings tend to create hope, and Genesis is full of that.
I am excited to begin Exodus.
I am not trying to change the subject here, but I am so happy that our governor removed the stay-at-home order in Louisiana. Staying home and being unable to be around people has not been my favorite thing!
I was super happy about that news today and am prayerful that we all continue to see a decline in new cases.
